Ok, so the other day I had an idea, see it here. Looks like refMob is doing something of the sort. So, I guess this is another point for me. Not sure what the score is (Laserlike.com and I are in an unofficial contest on who comes up with the most ideas that get funding. LaserLike is a VC guy who says he gives away great ideas. Me, I am just a non-VC guy who would like to be a VC guy who gets paid to create new ideas; thinktank-er).  So as it stands right now, I believe the score, including refMob, is now 3.5 to 0. Maybe it’s 3.5 to 1. I am not sure because Laserlike won’t tell me his point total, I believe because he doesn’t want to make it an official contest as it might look bad when a regular guy is beating him at what he is getting paid to do.

I should actually be getting another point for this one, as well, but since I didn’t blog it…out of luck.  I recently sold and bought a car via Craigslist (both side of the transaction) and I told my wife there is a huge market for this. Autotrader and Cars.com suck and are filled with mostly dealerships. Though my idea was more of one similar to one of those car lease swapping sites. My idea is a multi-swapping site for cars. So say you have 3 parties involved and each one wants the others used car in exchange for theirs, so guy1 wants guy2 and guy2 wants guy3 and guy3 wants guy1…confused?  You can have swaps or straight car sales. The idea arose because I tried taking in my Lexus 400h to the Lexus dealership where I bought it to see if they would by it back and they said “we won’t touch a 400h with 70,xxx miles”. So, I was a little PO’d they don’t have faith in their own cars. So anyway, the the next dealership I went to offered me peanuts for my car so I sold it via Craigslist.  Then the Honda Element I wanted was overpriced at the dealerships and they wouldn’t come down so I again turned to Craigslist.  All in all, I got $1500 more for my Lexus than the dealerships offered and I saved $1500 on the Honda Element I purchased. That folks is a market waiting to be taken over. Yes, I could of used Ebay, but I bought a 71 camaro off there a year ago, and it was less than ideal.
