So venture hacks made a post Free ideas , which talks about Laserlike giving away free ideas since people worry to much about protecting them and not enough time about launching them.
Wow! What a novel concept. I have been doing this for a while now and never got any street cred from VH or anyone else. Where is my managing director gig?
I did notice some of his ideas have already been done or are being done, like the broadcast SMS to groups idea. Can’t remember who is doing it, but I had downloaded it on my old cell phone a year or two ago. I think the companies name starts with a “P”. I guess company “P” didn’t have proper branding as I can’t remember them. Guess that means the idea isn’t so good either since I didn’t use it more than once or twice.
I do think Mike Speiser’s has the right idea (no pun), maybe he read my blog before, holding on to your ideas is worthless, as someone will eventually come up with the same idea later. As the case with the group SMS shows. I have personally found this out the hardway a couple of years ago and since then having been giving away the ideas I don’t have time or money to implement. The others I am developing or outsourcing as I write.
So cheers Mike Speiser’s, “On your way you are”.

I haven’t read your blog, until just now. Love your idea about giving them away, though ;–)
Great looking site. Look forward to checking it out. How do we know which site is giving better ideas away?
Props to you Jason Ervin.
Take care,
Mike
I guess we could go the old command and control route and attack each others ideas or start tracking the number of ideas we create that are implemented. We could compare salaries (where you would win hands down), or we could compare the size of our……hmmm…..egos.
Or we could just keep giving them away and be happy with that.
If your looking to win something, I will concede today as your ideas seem to be more thorough, and I just don’t have the time as I have a day job.
So congrats! Here => +100 bonus points for you.
Thanks for taking the time out of your busy day to read my little old blog. I will add you to my blog reader.
